Samsung Electronics Announces Fourth Quarter and yearly report
The Company reported KRW 61.55 trillion ($55.13 billion) in consolidated
revenue and KRW 9.05 trillion ($8.11 billion) in operating profit in the fourth
quarter ended December 31, 2020.
For the entire year, it reported KRW 236.81 trillion ($212.14 billion) in
revenue and KRW 35.99 trillion ($32.24 billion) in operating profit.
Profit rose 26.4 percent from the last year but fell 26.7 percent from
the third quarter due to weaker memory prices and sluggish consumer products
sales, as well as higher marketing costs and negative impact from the Korean
won’s appreciation.
Third quarter
Samsung Electronics reported KRW 66.96 trillion ($59.98 billion) in
consolidated revenue and KRW 12.35 trillion ($11.06 billion) in operating
profit for the third quarter ended September 30, 2020.
Quarterly operating profit rose 52 percent from the second quarter.
Second quarter
Samsung Electronics reported KRW 52.97 trillion ($47.45 billion) in
consolidated revenue and KRW 8.15 trillion ($7.3 billion) in operating profit
for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020. Quarterly operating profit rose 26
percent from the previous quarter.
First quarter
Total revenue was KRW 55.33 trillion ($49.55 billion) Operating profit was KRW 6.45 trillion ($5.78 billion) for the first quarter ended March 31, 2020.
